Why this site exists

Search “how to buy Bitcoin in The Bahamas” and most results are written for somebody in Miami or London. They skip the things that decide whether a purchase actually works from Nassau, Freeport or a Family Island: whether your Bahamian debit card will be accepted, what your bank charges for a foreign card payment or a SWIFT wire, the 1.5% stamp duty on currency conversion, Central Bank exchange control, and which companies are registered with the Securities Commission under the DARE Act 2024.

Crypto Bahamas fills that gap. We cover routes and costs, local rules, Sand Dollar, wallets, scams and island-by-island practicalities, and we review the exchanges and local firms Bahamians actually use.

Who we are

Crypto Bahamas is written and maintained by a small editorial team that researches, checks and edits every page. We publish as a team rather than under individual bylines, and every page carries the date its facts were last checked. We are not a bank, broker, exchange or Securities Commission registrant, and we never hold or handle anyone’s money.

Our mission

To make crypto in The Bahamas understandable and safer. That means telling you what works today, what doesn’t, and what we couldn’t confirm. When a company’s page is blocked or a claim can’t be verified, we say so instead of guessing. When a route is expensive or risky, we show the numbers.

How we research

We start with primary sources: gazetted legislation, the Securities Commission of The Bahamas (SCB) register of digital asset businesses, Central Bank of The Bahamas (CBOB) notices and fee schedules, and the official help and legal pages of each company we cover. Live data such as P2P order books and ATM directories is checked directly, with the date of the check recorded. Every content page ends with a list of dated sources so you can verify each claim yourself. The full method is in our editorial policy.

How we stay independent

Crypto Bahamas is an independent resource. No company pays to change a ranking, a review conclusion or a fact, and no company sees our pages before they are published. Reviews describe concrete, checkable facts rather than star ratings, and we update them when the facts change, whether the change is good or bad for the company concerned.
