Not financial, legal or tax advice

Crypto Bahamas publishes general information about cryptocurrency in The Bahamas. Nothing on this site is financial, investment, legal or tax advice, and nothing is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any digital asset. Our content does not take your personal circumstances into account. Before making a decision, speak to a licensed professional, and check a provider’s status with the regulator.

An independent information resource

We are an independent resource. We are not a bank, broker, exchange, financial adviser or Securities Commission registrant, and we never hold or handle anyone’s money. Mention of a company, product or route on this site is not an endorsement of it.

Crypto is risky

Crypto prices are volatile and can fall sharply in hours. You can lose all of the money you put in. Platforms can fail, as the collapse of FTX in Nassau showed in 2022, and coins sent to the wrong address or lost with a seed phrase usually cannot be recovered. Many global exchanges are not registered in The Bahamas, which means you may have no Bahamian regulator to turn to if something goes wrong. Bahamian residents are also subject to Central Bank exchange control and 1.5% stamp duty on currency conversion.

Accuracy

We work hard to keep facts accurate and dated, using official sources wherever possible. But fees, rules, country lists and company services change, sometimes without notice, and we can make mistakes. Always confirm important details on the provider’s official site and with the relevant authority before acting. If you spot an error, email contact@crypto-bahamas.com.

Calculators and prices

Our calculators and converters use public price feeds and published fee data. Results are estimates for illustration only. The price and fees you actually pay will depend on the provider, your bank and the moment you trade.

External links

We link to regulators, companies and news sources so you can check our work. External links are marked nofollow and open in a new tab. We don’t control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

No liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Crypto Bahamas and its editorial team accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from the use of, or reliance on, information on this site or on any site we link to.

Check the register

Before you send money to any crypto business that says it operates in or from The Bahamas, check it on the Securities Commission of The Bahamas register at scb.gov.bs. Our guide to registered crypto companies explains how to read it, and our scam warnings page lists recent official notices.
